Some tips in finding a good supplier of wholesale sunglasses.

The key to finding a good supplier of wholesale sunglasses is to look first at the services provided by the company rather than the price.  Good quality is defined not only by price, but by the value for money, and you don’t want to lose your valued customers by providing a product which is going to fall apart in the first week they own them, or have to waste money refunding or exchanging damaged product.

However, the way this benefits an average customer is remarkably beneficial. A lot of suppliers will provide samples for little or no cost so that you can check to compare the quality of their product as well as the cost before you shell out for a whole box for your store.  This also shows the range that the company has for sale better than any catalog or online advertisement, as you can truly see what they look like on a human face.

In this global world we are all living in, the easiest and quickest place to find wholesale suppliers of sunglasses – and a lot of other products – is on the internet.  But again, don’t just look at their catalog prices.  Email them, have an online chat (the internet can translate for you if they are not in the same country as you are) and find out a little more about their policies.

When comparing prices between wholesale companies, make sure you check the cost of delivery or postage which will be added to your bill at the end of the sale.  Some items I have looked to buy online have surprised me by costing more to be delivered to me than they cost to purchase, and from other suppliers there is little or no delivery charge as they see this as good business practice to keep their customers coming back.

Some companies charge by the distance the package has to travel, which often means it is free or very cheap if you are in the same area as the manufacturer, but very expensive if you are in the other side of the country – or in a different country.  Some companies charge by the weight of the product you are ordering, or the size of the box which means that there is no discount for bulk orders, the more you order the more you will pay for the delivery.  This can be hard to calculate without seeing the actual package which is being sent to you and can be a surprise when you receive the bill.  Companies with fixed rates are often the cheapest way to go, and at least you won’t be surprised when you receive the bill for each subsequent delivery as it will stay the same for long periods of time.  It is also important to ask how long it takes for the product to be delivered to you before you pay for it, as some companies are much quicker at sending out merchandise than others.

As far as payment goes, this can be the biggest trap.  One of the most common scams on the internet is for someone to open a website, advertise a product, receive money for the sale of the product, then close the website and never be heard from again (until they open the next fake website.)  See if they will accept Cash on Delivery (and make sure you open the box and check its contents before you pay for it), or a credit card which has some kind of protection policy such as most visa cards.  If you are considering sending a check or transferring money directly into someone else’s account, be very careful when typing out the account numbers and check the company out thoroughly first.  Always print out the transaction receipt so that there can be no questions later about what you ordered or paid for.  This covers both you and the supplier from confusion.  Across the globe millions of dollars are tricked out of unsuspecting internet ‘customers’ each year, most commonly through merchandise which is never sent to you, or is an inferior product to the one you ordered and paid for.
